Dean Phillips supporters launch ads attacking Biden’s electability

by

Supporters of Congressman Dean Phillips (D-MN) have launched a series of television and digital ads attacking former Vice President Joe Biden’s electability. The ads, which began running on Tuesday, accuse Biden of representing conventional Washington politics and being out of touch with local Minnesotans. The 30-second spot features an audio clip of Biden describing how he “should have been the Democratic nominee” in 2008, with a voiceover rebuking, “If Joe Biden had been the nominee, we wouldn’t have a Democratic president today.” The ads come as part of a larger effort to promote Phillips’ bid to unseat President Donald Trump in 2020.
