Congressman Matt Gaetz (R-FL) has filed a motion to force House Republican leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) to be replaced as House speaker. According to The Hill, the move was made on the House floor in an attempt to register “no confidence” in McCarthy’s leadership. Gaetz has vociferously criticized McCarthy, accusing him of bad-mouthing President Donald Trump to Democrats. The resolution was quickly dismissed by the House speaker pro tempore.
