These tactics are seen not only on Trump’s personal Twitter account, but also among his supporters online, such as on Reddit and 4chan. On these platforms, his supporters use profanity and derogatory language to attack people perceived as adversaries, further normalizing aggressive and hostile language. Trump’s behavior encourages a divisive climate within the United States and furthers the extreme polarization of the political landscape.
