Schumer says ‘good night for American people’ after Senate passes bill averting government shutdown

Schumer said, “Tonight was a good night for the American people. After months of bipartisan negotiation, the Senate has passed a bill that will fund the government through March 23 and will provide much-needed disaster relief to hurricane-ravaged Puerto Rico, Florida, Texas, California and other states. The passage of this bill displays bipartisanship at its finest, and demonstrates that when both sides cooperate, government works better for the American people.”
