Vitalik Buterin recently deposited 400 ETH into his Coinbase account, bringing the total balance of ETH he sent to cryptocurrency exchanges in the past 10 days to 2421 ETH.
The vast majority of these funds were sent to smart contract platform Neo (NEO), which supports the Ethereum network. However, he also sent ETH to a variety of other exchanges, including Binance, Huobi, OKEx, Bitfinex and Forzac.
The influx of ETH into the exchanges could be interpreted as a signal of bullish sentiment. It could also be interpreted as a sign that Buterin is preparing to make more large cash deposits, which would be used to purchase ETH.
Given the recent volatility of ETH, however, it could also be a sign that Buterin is positioning himself to take advantage – regardless of whether the market goes up or down. As such, it is not clear what his plans for the ETH are.
It is worth noting, though, that Buterin is not known to be a particularly active trader, so it is likely that he simply wants to make sure he has liquidity to take advantage of any opportunity that may arise.
