Sen. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) recently opened up about his relationship status in an interview with MSNBC’s Chuck Todd. “I’m dating a lovely Christian girl,” Scott said.
The senator praised the importance of accountability and shared his take on how it applies to relationships. “Accountability in relationships is very important. I need someone around me that helps me make sure I’m operating on the right side of the line,” he said.
The senator has previously spoken about the importance of faith in his life. “My faith has been a source of strength and a source of processing difficult moments,” Scott said.
Scott also said he’s not looking to settle down any time soon, adding, “I’m looking forward to a bright future with the right partner and the right opportunities.” He did, however, hint that marriage could be on the horizon down the road.
The 54-year-old politician has been single since splitting from his ex-wife, Angela Scott, in 2014. He was previously married to her for almost 20 years.
