Grab, Southeast Asia’s most successful “super-app”, is joining the web3 movement and introducing a blockchain rewards program.
Grab is a regional leader in ride-hailing, food delivery, and financial services, with a presence in eight countries across the region including Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, and the Philippines. The company has embraced the web3 movement and has taken the step of launching a blockchain rewards program, which is based on a digital asset known as “GrabCoin”.
This move gives its users the opportunity to earn rewards and discounts, as well as access to exclusive offers, simply by using the Grab app. Users will receive GrabCoin when they complete certain activities, such as requesting rides, ordering food and beverages, and completing their payments with GrabPay.
In order to further spur the adoption of GrabCoin, Grab is also collaborating with several leading companies in the region, such as Lazada, Singapore Airlines, and Zalora, to offer rewards just for using GrabCoin.
This new rewards program is another example of how Grab is continuing to stay at the forefront of the web3 movement and is helping to drive the mainstream adoption of blockchain technology.
