A dog that went missing nearly 7 years ago in Oregon has been rescued and returned to his family after surviving in the wild for all this time.
The amazing dog, named Gizmo, was found by two local hikers in a remote canyon near the John Day River on the east side of the state. The hikers noticed Gizmo searching for food and contacted the local animal shelter, who eventually reached out to Gizmo’s original owners.
Gizmo was returned to his family in excellent condition, and it’s believed that he has managed to survive all of these years by living off the land. He’s been given a clean bill of health and is now enjoying his second chance at life with his original owner.
