Alaska Representative Mary Peltola’s husband, Bob Peltola, was among those killed in a plane crash in Soldotna, Alaska, on July 7th, 2019. The accident occurred when a Piper PA-18 Super Cub airplane operated by Peltola crashed in Soldotna shortly after takeoff. Pilot Bob Peltola, 57, was the only fatality in the accident. Representative Peltola had served in the Alaska House of Representatives since 2005, and is currently serving her sixth term.
